Dr. Herbold (Online)
Instructor: Dr. Herbold
Course Format: Online
Grade: Pass/Fail
Assignments: Weekly Homework (not graded)- The weekly assignments were a lot of online training courses through FEMA were you had to print out the certification of completion for proof of completion. Also you had to post several weekly BB discussions. They were easy and student mediated. Actually, you were assigned to one week during the course where you would make up a discussion question and direct or respond to other students. The other weeks, you just participate in online discussions that the other students mediate.
Project: There was a final project where you had to develop a likely disaster scenario and the appropriate response based on what you learned throughout the class. Wasn't hard.
Tests: None
Overall Impression: The course was not hard and the only time consuming part was the online trainings. I was disappointed that the professors really played a hands off role in the class. He didn't discuss and let the students choose the direction the discussions flowed which can be good but I felt more professor participation would have enhanced the course.
